A battery-powered luminaire saves the user both the hassle of cables - which sooner or later someone will get their feet stuck in - and the need for a constant power connection. Flashlights, headlamps and spotlights are necessary even on white nights, because no one is safe from the sudden need to rummage in dark cellars, attics and corners of the hall.
