In winter, the car owner can choose whether to put lamellar tyres or studded tyres. While studded tyres can only be used in winter, lamellar tyres are allowed all year round. As a rule, pneumatic tyres are cheaper than studded tyres and make less noise when driving. There are several types of pneumatic tyres. The strong compound tyres are well suited for clean urban streets and roads. If you mainly drive in the suburbs or in the countryside, where snow and icy road conditions are more prevalent, it is a good idea to fit soft compound or studded tyres. The latter are slightly more expensive, but you can always rely on them in the temperate north's fickle weather. In general, studded tyres are a safe choice for drivers with little driving experience.
